Who We Are
The McGuire family—Reeves, Joe Bob, Melanie, and Preston—is honored to serve as stewards of Ruidoso Hondo Valley Memorial Park (RHVMP), continuing a legacy rooted in community, care, and respect.
Their parents and grandparents, Mickey and Ruth McGuire, are both interred at RHVMP, alongside many longtime residents of the Ruidoso and Hondo Valley communities. Their connection to this place is both personal and enduring.
Mickey and Ruth moved to the area in 1962, when Mickey joined the Ruidoso school system as Principal of Nob Hill Elementary. Over a 23-year career, he served as a principal, counselor, and teacher across elementary, middle, and high school levels. Ruth, alongside raising their family, contributed to the community through her work as a librarian, church assistant, and teacher’s aide. Like many local families, they also spent summers working at Ruidoso Downs Race Track.
The family built their home in Ruidoso Downs in 1963, where deep roots were established and remain to this day. Though the current generation no longer resides in the area full-time, their connection to the community remains strong, with regular visits and ongoing stewardship of the cemetery.
